1、Using gas appliances that have exceeded their scrap age

①Article 7.3.1 of GB17905 “Safety Management Rules for Household Gas Burning Appliances” stipulates: From the date of sale, gas stoves are scrapped 8 years after the date of sale, and natural gas instantaneous water heaters, storage water heaters and heating water boilers are scrapped 8 years after the date of sale.

②According to the relevant provisions of the "Diaphragm Gas Meter Verification Regulations JJG577-2012": The service life of gas meters using natural gas as the medium shall not exceed 10 years. If the service life exceeds the prescribed period, it must be scrapped and replaced with a new gas meter.

2、Gas stoves do not have flameout protection devices

Article 6.1.2 of the national standard "Gas Engineering Project Specification" GB55009-2021 stipulates that household users' gas appliances should be equipped with flameout protection devices. The gas category indicated on the nameplate of the gas appliance should be consistent with the gas category supplied.

Gas appliances used in the home must be equipped with flameout protection devices. Gas appliances with flameout protection devices can automatically shut down in the event of a gas leak or other dangerous situation to avoid major harm. Using a stove without flameout protection is a major safety hazard and must be rectified.

3、Use rubber hose

Article 6.1.7 of GB55009-2021 "Gas Engineering Project Specifications" stipulates: When a household user pipeline or liquefied petroleum gas cylinder pressure regulator is connected to a gas appliance with a hose, a special gas appliance connection hose should be used. (Refer to the standard "Stainless Steel Corrugated Hose for Gas Appliance Connection" GB41317-2024) The service life of the hose should not be less than the scrap age of the gas appliance.

The scrapping period for gas water heaters and gas stoves is 8 years, while the service life of traditional rubber hoses is only 1.5 years, which does not meet regulatory requirements and cannot meet safety standards. Stainless steel corrugated hoses have the advantages of longer service life, high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance.

4、No gas alarm device installed

Article 8.4.3 of GB 50016-2014 "Code for Fire Protection Design of Buildings" stipulates that combustible gas alarm devices should be installed in places in buildings where flammable gases or flammable vapors may be emitted.

Article 6.2.1 of GB55009-2021 "Gas Engineering Project Specifications" stipulates: Commercial gas appliances or gas-using equipment should be installed in well-ventilated places that meet safe use conditions and are easy to maintain and operate, and safety devices such as gas leak alarms and cut-offs should be installed.
