Compared with diaphragm gas meters, ultrasonic gas meters have the advantages of high reliability, high precision, stable performance, accurate measurement and long service life. Its core component is the ultrasonic metering module, which includes PCBA electronic circuit boards of metering algorithms, effective bidirectional flow channels, ultrasonic transducers and other components.


With the development of information and Internet of Things technologies, the intelligentization and digitization of energy metering and transportation control have become important development trends in the energy field. Higher requirements are placed on the functions, technological advancement, metering accuracy, and operational stability of gas meters. Driven by market demand, a wave of product innovation is sweeping the gas metering field. Traditional diaphragm gas meters will gradually withdraw from the stage of history, and the rapidly developing ultrasonic gas meters are expected to lead the industry's continued development.


Ultrasonic gas meters are widely favored for their many advantages. Developed countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Japan have approved ultrasonic gas meters as trade settlement measuring instruments. As a new generation of household gas meters that replace diaphragm gas meters, ultrasonic gas meters have entered ordinary households in Germany, Italy, and Japan and are widely used.


Ultrasonic gas meters started late in China. In recent years, the domestic market has mainly been in the stage of purchasing imported core components (Japanese Panasonic ultrasonic metering modules) and then assembling them with shells and external main control circuits. The prices are generally high, and market promotion is therefore limited. For the Chinese market with a capacity of about 100 million gas meters, the broad development prospects of ultrasonic gas meters bring new development opportunities to potential Chinese gas meter companies.
