How to Install a Smart Water Meter the Right Way

1.First, choose a suitable installation location for the smart water meter and determine the correct installation diameter.

2. During installation, the water meter should be kept horizontal. The smart water meter face should be upward. An arrow on the meter casing indicates the direction. During installation, ensure the water flow direction aligns with the arrow. Smart water meters are not suitable for locations with direct sunlight, standing water, or severe pollution. Smart water meters require manual reading, so ensure easy disassembly and reading during installation. To avoid meter malfunctions, remove all debris from new pipes before installation.

3. Valves should be installed before and after the smart water meter to control water flow. Both valves should be open when using the smart water meter. In addition to valves, straight pipes should be installed upstream and downstream. Straight pipes are crucial, and their length has specific requirements. The upstream pipe should be less than 10D, and the downstream pipe less than 5D.

4. Another factor to consider when installing a water meter is its metering accuracy. To ensure accurate water meter readings, the downstream pipe should be installed at least 0.5 meters above the water meter. Furthermore, debris inside the water pipes can easily lead to inaccurate readings; therefore, extra care should be taken during normal use, and any debris should be cleaned as soon as possible.
