Water quality requirements

Ultrasonic water meter: It is not interfered by impurities such as gravel and weeds, chemical substances, and magnetic substances in the medium.

Electromagnetic water meter: It is not interfered by impurities such as gravel and weeds, chemical substances, and magnetic substances in the medium.

Mechanical water meter: The water quality must be similar to that of tap water, and the liquid must not contain impurities such as rust, gravel, aquatic plants, etc.

Range Ratio

Ultrasonic water meter: The measuring range is generally better than 100:1 and the starting flow rate is extremely low, which can be lower than 0.01m/s. The effective measurement range is large and it can avoid running, popping, dripping and leaking.

Electromagnetic water meter: poor measurement performance at low flow rates, stable measurement performance at medium and high flow rates. The turndown ratio coverage range does not cover the small flow area.

Mechanical water meter: It is difficult to produce products with high range ratio. The range ratio of conventional water meters is generally below 80.

Abrasion

Ultrasonic water meter: It does not have any mechanical moving parts and will never wear out. Its accuracy has little relationship with the usage time. The general verification period is more than 3 years.

Electromagnetic water meter: It does not have any mechanical moving parts and will never wear out. The accuracy has little relationship with the usage time. The general verification period is more than 3 years.

Mechanical water meter: It uses mechanical rotating parts such as impeller gears to measure. It is subject to wear and tear. The longer it is used, the lower the measurement accuracy.

Ultrasonic water meter: minimum grade △P10 to meet pressure loss

Electromagnetic water meter: meet the minimum level of pressure loss △P10

Mechanical water meter: The pressure loss is very large, around △P63

Protection level

Ultrasonic water meter: electronic product, the protection level is strictly required to reach IP68, and the product must be of qualified quality.

Electromagnetic water meter: electronic product, the protection level is strictly required to reach IP68, and the product must be of qualified quality.

Mechanical water meter: IP68

Installation requirements (flow field sensitivity level)

Ultrasonic water meter: The industry-leading product can be better than U3D0: 3 times the aperture length of the pipe section is required in the upstream, and the bent pipe can be directly connected to the downstream.

Electromagnetic water meter: U10D5 or U5D3: 10/5 times the pipe aperture length is required for the upstream and 5/3 times the pipe aperture length for the downstream.

Mechanical water meter: U10D5: The upstream requires 10 times the pipe section aperture length, and the downstream requires 5 times the pipe section aperture length.

Installation method

Ultrasonic water meter: You can choose the installation method horizontally, vertically or tilted according to the site conditions.

Electromagnetic water meter: horizontal or vertical, the electrodes must be on the same horizontal plane

Mechanical water meter: single installation, must be installed strictly horizontally or vertically

Power supply problem

Ultrasonic water meter: a qualified product that can guarantee a battery life of more than 10 years under a flow measurement cycle of at least 1 second.

Electromagnetic water meter: The principle of electromagnetic induction determines the large power consumption. It generally takes 15 seconds to measure a flow rate, and the battery life is 3-5 years.

Mechanical water meter: Mechanical water meter does not require power supply

Ultrasonic water meter: initiated by internal circuit, no external electronic device required, zero communication error

Electromagnetic water meter: initiated by internal circuit, no external electronic device required, zero communication error
